Honest reviews, real prices in baht, and area-by-area advice to help travelers, expats and locals choose a Bangkok tailor with confidence.
The best tailor in Bangkok depends on what you need. For fine imported fabrics and a slower bespoke process, look at the established houses in Sukhumvit and Asoke. For fast turnaround and fixed prices, Silom has strong value shops. Expect to pay roughly ฿8,000–฿40,000+ for a custom suit and to attend at least two fittings.
We compared Bangkok's most recommended tailoring shops on pricing transparency, turnaround, review consistency and specialty. Here are the top three; the full ranking explains every score.
Asoke, Sukhumvit
A fourth-generation family tailoring house operating since the 1960s, offering bespoke suits, shirts and trousers with a large imported-fabric library. Beyond the shop, AMBFA Tailor offers free pick-up within Bangkok, on-site measurements, and trunk shows in Europe and the USA, so returning clients can re-order without flying back.
Silom
A family bespoke house working from the same Silom Road premises since 1974, now run by twin brothers. Most of its cloth comes from European mills such as Dormeuil, Zegna and Loro Piana.
By appointment
A home-based tailoring studio (also known as Heart to Heart Tailoring) that works by appointment only, offering a more personal, one-to-one fitting experience than a busy shopfront.
Four things to check before you commit to a fitting.
A well-fitted suit needs 2–3 fittings over 3–7 days. [verify] Book your first fitting early in your trip, and be wary of "24-hour suit" offers that skip the second fitting.
Ask for the fabric's mill name and composition, and whether the jacket is canvassed or fused. Canvassed jackets hold their shape for years; fused ones can bubble after dry cleaning.
Find out whether free adjustments are included after collection, and whether they keep your pattern on file for future orders from home.
Look for consistent comments on fit from the last 12 months on Google and TripAdvisor, not just a high star rating.

Where you stay in Bangkok matters, because a good suit needs repeat fittings. Choose a tailor near your hotel or a BTS/MRT line.
Sukhumvit
Bangkok's largest tailor cluster, from Nana to Soi 8, with every price point. Easy by BTS for repeat fittings.
Asoke
Home to several long-running bespoke houses, including AMBFA, a short walk from the Asok BTS / Sukhumvit MRT interchange.
Silom
The business district's tailors dress finance and corporate clients, with good value and fast turnaround.
Phrom Phong & Thonglor
Upscale expat neighborhoods with smaller, appointment-friendly workshops.
Also covering Sathorn (quieter heritage shops near Silom's offices and embassies) and Siam (central, near the malls, handy for first-time visitors staying downtown) — area guides for both coming soon.
A custom two-piece suit in Bangkok typically costs ฿8,000–฿40,000+, depending mostly on the fabric and whether it is made-to-measure or true bespoke.
| Item | Budget | Mid-range | Premium / bespoke |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2-piece suit | ฿6,000–12,000 | ฿12,000–25,000 | ฿25,000–80,000+ |
| Shirt | ฿1,500–2,500 | ฿2,500–5,000 | ฿5,000+ |
| Trousers | ฿1,800–3,800 | ฿3,800–7,800 | ฿7,800–16,000+ |
| Tuxedo | ฿10,000–18,000 | ฿18,000–35,000 | ฿35,000–90,000+ |
The price gap comes from four things: fabric (local blends vs. Italian and English mills), construction (fused vs. canvassed), the number of fittings, and who does the cutting. Always ask for a written, itemized quote before any cloth is cut.

Transparent about what this ranking is — and isn't.
This list is built from research, not sponsorship: published customer reviews, public pricing where available, and recurring patterns across independent write-ups. We have not personally visited every shop on this list yet, and we say so plainly rather than implying first-hand testing we haven't done — as the site grows, in-person visits and verified pricing will replace research-based entries.
We weigh four things for every shop: pricing transparency (published or consistently reported rates vs. negotiate-on-the-spot), turnaround time relative to the type of work, consistency of service across multiple independent reviews, and how well the shop's specialty matches what it's known for (bespoke, budget, shirts, women's tailoring, and so on). Every shop is scored against these same four criteria, no shop is placed by default, and no position on this list is paid for.

How to Choose the Right Custom Tailor
Read More →There is no single best tailor; it depends on budget, time and style. AMBFA Tailor and Perry Tailors suit buyers who want imported fabrics and classic bespoke fittings, while Maruti Tailor is a practical pick when you need a suit quickly. See our full ranking of 10 Bangkok tailors.
Most custom two-piece suits in Bangkok cost ฿8,000–฿40,000 (about US$220–$1,100). Budget made-to-measure starts near ฿6,000; bespoke suits in Italian or English cloth can pass ฿80,000. Fabric and construction drive most of the difference. [verify + confirm FX rate]
Plan on 3–7 days and at least two fittings for a good made-to-measure suit. True bespoke usually needs 3 or more fittings over 1–3 weeks. Some shops offer 24–48 hour suits, but the fit is rarely as good. [verify]
Expect two fittings for made-to-measure and three or more for bespoke. The first checks the basic shape; later fittings refine shoulders, sleeves and trouser length.
Sukhumvit has the largest choice, from Nana to Asoke and Soi 8. Silom and Sathorn serve business clients with good value, and Phrom Phong and Thonglor have smaller upscale workshops. Pick a shop near your hotel or a BTS/MRT station to make repeat fittings easy.
Yes, most established Bangkok tailors ship internationally, usually by courier in 3–10 days. Many keep your pattern on file so you can re-order without visiting again. Always confirm shipping costs and import duties before paying. [verify]
Avoid shops recommended by touts or tuk-tuk drivers, and be wary of very cheap "suit + 2 shirts" packages. Choose a shop with recent, detailed reviews, ask for the fabric's mill name, and get a written quote before any cloth is cut.
Every tailor is scored on pricing transparency, turnaround, review consistency and specialty fit. No tailor pays for its position, and every shop is scored the same way. Our full methodology is on the About page.
